Regina Benjamin was appointed Surgeon General today. Who would have thought, another minority appointed by the Furor Obama who does not have the clout or qualifications to go along with the job. This is a woman who will either have to admit to being a hypocrite or practice the “Do as I say, not as I do” mentality. Regina Benjamin is an overweight doctor who claims that the she spent her career doctoring the poverty stricken people of Alabama. She is NOT the epitome of health, but will now have the task of making sure that you and I WILL BE, so the government’s insurance industry will not incur the cost that other insurance companies have. How can she live her life ,(be overweight), the way she wants to, while she dictates how the American people will need to do so they can be healthy, (low cost for Obama-coverage)? Was she chosen for her obvious lack of nutritional know-how or for the fact that she was a minority? If this woman does not have the motivation to keep herself fit, do you think she will be motivated to keep you fit? She says that she is going to address the tobacco industry and OBESITY, is this a shot at herself? When asked in an interview about her weight, she says that she hopes the American people can help her and in return she can help them. Maybe she will not need to tend to her job duties, as our nation has become “O.K.” with paying people for not working.
What rquirements are needed to fill this position? Let’s see…if I want to find a company to manage my retirement funds…I would look at the company’s background in handling market fluctuations. I would want to see that they are practicing what they preach, by also investing in the companies that they are placing my money with. They would need to show me a history of profit that they have earned for their customers, proof that they could help my fund grow. These things seem to be very obvious “tools” that we would want our investor to share with us. Doesn’t a football coach need to have a winning record if he wants to apply for a job elsewhere? Wouldn’t we want someone who has ALREADY proven his/her self to apply for the task at hand. As a teenager, many of us were turned away during our job hunts to find out that we didn’t have enough experience or were not trained to do the task at hand. The point I am ultimately getting to here is that NOT every job is set for “on the job training.”
In a interview with ABC news ,(an Obama friendly, non-shunned news agency), she acknowledges that “things are missing’ in the new health care reform bill, but that she believes Congress can come up with a solution at a later time, AFTER the bill is passed. Hmmm. It is no wonder that Obama likes her. They share the same mentality that we can get what we want now, (Nobel Peace Prize, Health care laws passed), and earn it / repair it later. Sounds like a good thing to teach our children. "Don’t do anything now that you can do later." Once again, this is the EXACT opposite of the NORMALITY I was raised in.
